Sacred Island

A legendary island in the center of the Gobi Desert where certain Adepts live. It is also known as SHAMBALLA, “from whence the last Savior will come” (SDII:350). The island, according to belief, is said to be “an oasis surrounded by the dreadful wilderness of the great Desert, the Gobi — whose sands ‘no foot hath crossed in the memory of man’” (SD II:220). According to the Secret Doctrine, the Adepts from this island were the ones who battled the sorcerers of Atlantis. The special group of Adepts called the SONS OF THE FIRE MIST live in Shamballa. They were mind-born, that is, produced by KRIYASAKTI, during the Third ROOT RACE of humanity.
